3 Best ATG Sled Straps In 2023 (Knees Over Toes)

Last Updated On

If you’re following the knees over toes training methodology or the ATG program, you should be well aware of the benefits of the reverse sled drag.

After doing some research, I was shocked to find out how few options there are when it comes to waist straps for knees over toes training sleds.

My Top Pick:

HGG Sled Waist Strap

I’ve spent the day taking a close look at the 3best ATG sled straps on the current market, and I’m going to share with you which straps are worth getting, and which aren’t.

Let’s begin!

Best Value

HGG Sled Waist Strap

HGG Sled Waist Strap

The sled strap from HGG Performance is designed specifically for knees over toes sled work and costs a fraction of the other options!

Most Affordable ATG Sled Strap On The Market

Designed by the pioneers of ATG equipment manufacturing, HGG Performance, this sled waist strap was made specifically for all your knees over toes needs.

BP-Sled Waist Strap

It’s 8 foot long, extremely durable, and comfortable to use. It’s everything you need in an ATG sled strap, and it’s significantly more affordable than the alternatives at around ~$50.

I’ve personally used this sled strap (as it came with my BP-Sled 2.0) and I’m a massive fan.

It’s sturdy, comfortable, and does exactly what you need it to. Anyone complaining about it being tight around the waist is simply whinging!

Others have echoed the same sentiment…

I have tried a variety of different sled attachments, Harnesses, waist straps, belts, etc. and I would definitely rank this one amongst the best. Even Including shipping from AUS to the east coast U.S., this was still significantly cheaper than other name-brand attachments, without sacrificing quality.

I find it pretty tough to go past this sled strap when there’s so many other glowing reviews like these…

HGG Waist Strap Testimonial

“I absolutely adore my Home Gym Guys waist sled strap. It is well made, the perfect length, thickness and is super comfortable.”

Bryan D, HGG Website

Recommended Use

This sled strap is the best choice for anyone who simply wants a strap that’ll get the job done, but doesn’t want to pay more than necessary.

The Good

At around $50, this sled strap is significantly more affordable than all other options on the market.

Quality materials. HGG only make top quality gear and their sled strap is no different!

The Bad

After having used the sled strap personally, I don’t have a single complaint!

Best Overall

Mr. 1NF1N1TY X Shogun Premium Sled Strap

Mr. 1NF1N1TY X Shogun Premium Sled Strap

Mr. 1NF1N1TY and Shogun have created a beautifully designed, super comfortable and ergonomic sled strap that is the best option for anyone doing a large amount of sledding.

Best Overall ATG Sled Strap

This sled strap is also 8′ in length but is made with high strength industrial grade polyester, so the materials appear to be about as good as you could have hoped!

Check out my full performance review of this strap below!

The belt is super heavy duty and thick enough that it won’t cinch down and choke your waist while using it.

ATG Sled Strap

This premium sled strap comes with a premium price tag of $99, making it the most expensive option as well.

If you’re planning on doing as much sledding as Mr. 1NF1N1TY does, then comfort and durability are probably well worth paying a little extra for!

With my discount code, you’ll only pay $15 more for this strap compared to the ATG Buddies strap, which pales in comparison to the quality of the Shogun strap!

Recommended Use

Great option for serious athletes doing large volumes of sled work who value comfort as well as durability.

The Good

Ultra high quality materials and excellent durability.

Unique design prevents the strap from choking your waist.

The Bad

This is the most expensive ATG sled strap on the market.

Also Great

ATG Buddies ATG Sled Strap

ATG Sled Strap

If you’re an existing ATG member, you can get 20% off the exact same sled strap Ben Patrick uses every day!

Great Option For Existing ATG Members

This is Ben Patrick’s very own sled strap, so you know it’s a quality piece of kit.

This sled strap will still choke you a little around the waist, but it’s quite nicely padded so it’s still going to be extremely comfortable to use.

ATG Buddies Sled Strap

As far as price goes, this strap is around the middle of the range costing about $75. However if you’re an ATG member you can get 20% off which makes this a pretty good deal.

It is still going to be more expensive than the HGG sled strap, but it’s definitely more affordable than the Shogun strap.

Recommended Use

This sled strap is a great, premium choice particularly for existing ATG members who are entitled to a 20% discount.

The Good

This strap has more padding than the others, making it one of the more comfortable choices.

Existing ATG members get 20% off.

The Bad

The strap does still choke around the waist, but this is a very minor issue.

Final Verdict?

The HGG sled waist strap is definitely going to be the most affordable option and is really all you need when it comes to sledding.

If you wanted a more premium feel when working with the sled, opt for either the Shogun sled strap or, if you’re already an ATG member, the ATG strap.

My ATG Sled Strap Research & Review Process

I always make it my mission to be as comprehensive as possible with these product reviews so I can be as helpful as possible to my readers.

I’ve currently only been able to personally test the HGG sled waist strap as importing equipment into Thailand is difficult at the best of times.

I have used it extensively however, and I can speak directly to its quality from regular first hand use.

In the interest of full transparency, I cannot yet speak about the other products in this article from first hand experience.

However since there wasn’t much information available on the internet about ATG sled straps, I decided to take the time to research each of these options and put together this list anyway, hoping some of you would still find it helpful.

My Experience Using Sled Straps

As someone who does the ATG training program, I’m pulling the sled at least 3-4 times a week, so I have a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about here.

Before I got my HGG sled waist strap, I’d been improvising using resistance bands and cheap straps that do a pretty horrific job if I’m being completely honest.

Now that I have a quality sled strap, the difference in comfort pulling the sled is simply night and day.

Research Process

Researching this article wasn’t too difficult, since there’s really only 3 ATG sled straps on the market in total.

In order to find a 4th product you’d be looking at a Spud Inc belt + strap which is super expensive and not very comfortable, so I decided not to include that option in this roundup.

I compared these 3 products based primarily on price and comfort, in that order.

Comfort is nice to have, especially when you’re doing a lot of sledding, but it’s not the most important thing in the world…

I got by just fine for weeks using a thin nylon strap with absolutely zero give in it.

It would dig into my waist a lot, but it honestly didn’t bother me that much at all.

For that reason, I’ve strongly recommended the HGG strap which is comfortable enough and significantly more affordable than the others.

Continually Updating With New Products & Information

As I gain more experience using each of these straps, I’ll be updating this article so that you know exactly how my feelings towards each product evolve over time.

I’m also constantly on the hunt for new sled straps that can offer value to the marketplace for inclusion in this article.

Feel free to read more about my product testing standards and review process.
